A leader in digital medicine, Proteus Digital Health, Inc develops digital feedback systems that allow for remote monitoring by doctors and caregivers. Providing an accurate picture of a patient’s health; the system includes wearable and ingestible sensors that work together to detect pill ingestion and physiological data.
Anvil Studios had the privilege of establishing a 4 year long partnership with Proteus. Collaborating on a wide variety of conceptual and market driven design problems, we acted as the industrial design extension of their internal User Experience design team. Our work focused on conceptualizing and realizing a suite of wearables devices, their surrounding eco-systems and relative packaging solutions.
The very nature of wearable devices demands a deep exploration and extensive iteration of form studies that are comfortable enough to be worn on the body indefinitely. We mocked-up hundreds of prototypes, models, patches, garments, and apparatuses for user experience evaluations. We required team members to wear the variations for multiple days for a real world understanding of the volume and form, prior to preparing the designs for external focus groups.
