Pulsar Informatics STAR Fatigue Tracker
A worker’s performance can be actively managed by monitoring the individual’s fatigue level. Alert workers are more productive and experience fewer accidents. Pulsar Informatics’ technology provides real-time assessment of fatigue levels and overall risk in individuals where alertness is of the utmost importance; aviation, long-haul trucking, industrial settings, etc… Pulsar Informatics partnered with Anvil Studios and Workshop16 for to design and develop the STAR fatigue tracking device; a body-worn sensor that captures critical metric for determining fatigue.
The STAR fatigue tracker is first and foremost a wearable monitor. Pulsar determined the wrist as the most accepted area for the widest variety of people to wear their device. Designed to be unobtrusive, the discreet form is sleek and has a low profile. To keep distractions to a minimum, the display face is dead-fronted and glows only when critical information is needed. Contour lines traveling up and around the band help to frame and orient the display towards the user. The light detector creates a crown jewel, while the wear-detection sensors and motion sensor are quietly tracking actively level while hidden within the device. The dock design cradles the wearable on its side to allow for multiples to nest together, reducing the overall footprint for storing, recharging and updating software.
With diverse experience in industries ranging from consumer electronics, high-end audio, medical and life sciences, housewares and cycling, Anvil Studios is a product design company committed to bringing a broad range of solutions to the table.
