Beams MB710 Night Light
Beams is an innovator of LED technology that provides wireless lighting solutions for areas around the house that are void of outlets or hardwired junction boxes. Beams partnered with Anvil Studios, Inc. to create a family of energy efficient, battery-powered, LED night lights for inside the home. This product family incorporates motion and/or light sensor activation (depending on intended use), auto shut-off, a sleep-friendly amber light, and long battery life. The design brief emphasized slim, compact, and efficient enclosures that use standard AAA batteries and mount anywhere via double stick tape or simple wall screws.
The MB710 LED Night Light is intended for use in bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and stairways, and is activated by a motion sensor located on the top surface. The design objective was to provide soft illumination that does not make direct eye contact and does not cast harsh lighting lines or patterns against the wall or floor.
Our design solution achieved this goal by angling a generously sized light diffuser downward, away from the wall to mainly illuminate the floor below. This design gesture earned the nickname “Envelope Light” as the slim profile and large rounded sides elegantly wrap around the internal components.
