Meyer Sound

Meyer Sound :: Vision Design Language
Since 1979 Meyer Sound has been a leading manufacturer and industry innovator of professional audio equipment, solutions, and software. Meyer Sound partnered with Anvil Studios to collaborate on a multi-year endeavor to create a unified design language for their entire portfolio of products that included loudspeakers, subwoofers, in-wall home audio, and rack mounted digital audio equipment. These products are found in a wide variety of environments ranging from audio control rooms, outdoor festivals, concert halls, corporate meeting spaces, auditoriums, churches/mosques, stadiums, cinemas, and personal residences.
The value and level of design of each product depended on its function and physical location. But the design language had to be consistent, flexible enough to accommodate future product categories, and unify the entire portfolio of products including software and relate to the general brand aesthetics. Usability, visibility, and durability were high priorities due to the nature of the environments that these products live in. The aesthetics needed to convey a premium brand experience, and reflect the quality of the engineering within the product. The aesthetics also needed to draw direct visual alignment with the entire Meyer Sound portfolio, both physical and digital.
Bringing together such a wide variety of forms and functions, and that are found in so many different environments, was no simple task. But Anvil Studios’ close collaboration with many different internal departments was successful in unifying many disparate elements into a cohesive portfolio. Anvil also helped elevate the value of design within the company which has lead to many more design-focused projects since this endeavor.
With diverse experience in industries ranging from consumer electronics, high-end audio, medical and life sciences, housewares and cycling, Anvil Studios is a product design company committed to bringing a broad range of solutions to the table.
