Power A :: BT Convergence Headset

Anvil Studios, based in Seattle, WA, partnered with PowerA to design a modern Bluetooth Convergence Headset tailored for a seamless wireless experience across gaming, music, and telephony. The headset was envisioned as a cleanly styled, symmetric-ear design drawing inspiration from sleek consumer tech products like the Jabra Halo and Jaybird Sportband. Built for mobility, the headset integrates larger speakers than the 3DS headset for enhanced audio, and includes a fold-down mini mic boom that mutes when flipped up. The intuitive user interface places music controls on the right ear and telephony/Bluetooth controls on the left, all located at the back of the housings to maintain a visually minimal profile. A micro-USB port enables both battery charging and a wired mode for airplane use when Bluetooth isn’t permitted.

Complementing the headset is a compact receiver hub designed to interface with home gaming consoles. The dongle features RCA jacks, a 3.5mm aux input, a micro-USB power connection, and intuitive controls including a slide power switch and a pairing button with LED status. This dual-product system was developed with a focus on versatility and clean aesthetics, providing users with a consistent audio experience whether at home or on the go. The concept designs were prepared for presentation to Sony at the DPS event held March 1st–3rd, aligning with PowerA’s strategic push into connected audio accessories.
